Moïse visits an electrical work site
On Saturday, President Moïse accompanied by Prime Minister Joseph Joute, Chancellor Claude Joseph and Taiwanese Ambassador Wen- jiann Ku, visited the substation under construction by the Taiwanese firm “Overseas Engineering & Construction Corp. LTDA. S.A.” (OECC), to inquire about the progress of work aimed at the upcoming electrification of the metropolitan area.

According to the Haitian organization Services Techniques et Opérationnels pour Pallier aux Accidents (STOP-Accidents) from March 9 to October 18, 2020, 765 road accidents killed 278 and injured 1,596.
Writer Yanick Lahens, 2020 Caribbean Carbet Prize
As part of the 30th anniversary of the Caribbean Carbet Prize 2020, this Prize was awarded this year to the Haitian writer Yanick Lahens “for all of her work” as well as to the Guyanese writers Élie Stephenson and the Martinican writer Alfred Alexandre.
Paris : Consul Wedlyne François Pierre in office
The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Paris informs the general public and the Haitian community in particular that Ms. Wedlyne François Pierre officially took office of the Consul General on October 21. After completing studies in Public Administration, Administrative Sciences and graduated in International Relations, François Pierre began her diplomatic career at the Embassy of Haiti in Canada where she worked as second secretary for the period from 2012 to 2014. She then served at the Embassy of Haiti in the Dominican Republic as First Secretary from 2015 to 2019. In July 2019, she was transferred to the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal as Consul, then Head of Post.
