Resumption of correctional hearings
Correctional hearings began on Monday, October 12 in the jurisdiction of Port-au-Prince after several months of paralysis of the courts. The government commissioner to the court of first instance, Me Gabriel Ducarmel, welcomed the lifting of the clerks’ strike which allowed the courts to function.

PAM Nobel Peace Prize
The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). In Haiti, WFP and Japan are implementing the school meal distribution project based on family farming.
The National Authorizing Officer of the EDF meets his Dominican counterpart
First working meeting, by videoconference between the National Authorizing Officer of the EDF, Mr. Charles Jean Jacques and his counterpart from the Dominican Republic, newly appointed, Mrs. Olaya Ondina Dotel Caraballo. The two authorizing officers took the opportunity to review the main pillars of cooperation between the two countries with the European Union, benefiting from the European Development Fund (EDF). At the end of the meeting, Jean Jacques and Ms. Caraballo renewed their commitment to continue to work in order to strengthen collaboration and cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
Golden Feather 2020
The Haitian Frantzie Wendell Monexile is the winner of the 2020 edition of the international competition named Plume d’Or. Plume d’or is a competition offered for several years to students of Alliances Françaises by the Association Défense de la langue française. It is sponsored by the French Senate and supported by the Francophonie secretariat and the Alliance Française foundation.
