Reintegration of women and minors detained
As part of the Access to Justice and Fight against Impunity in Haiti project, implemented by Avocats Sans Frontières Canada, the Directorate of Penitentiary Administration (DAP) organized two days of training for the benefit of staff of project Reintegration of women and minors detained in the Cabaret women’s prison carried out by the organization “Kri Fanm Ayiti” (KRIFA) with the financial support of the Government of Canada granted through Global Affairs Canada.
Mixed successes of the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum
Launched on Friday October 9, 2020 by the Cap-Haitien municipal council, the 1st Edition of the Municipal Forum on Youth Entrepreneurship https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31920-icihaiti-cap-haitien-forum-on-youth-entrepreneurship-registrations-open.html which took place in the premises of the Town Hall (October 10-11), is considered a success in the eyes of the participants of the first day. On the other hand, for the organizers, the reaction is mixed and they will have to look at some important aspects in order to improve the next 2021 Edition.
Vocational training and cooperation
Dikel Delvariste, Director General of the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP) received a courtesy visit from Pascal Montoisy, Representative of the Association for the Promotion of Education Abroad (APEFE) Wallonia-Brussels International in Haiti. It was particularly question of strengthening the links between the INFP and its partners, both national and international. Soon the commune of Plaine-du-Nord and Robillard (3rd section) will benefit from support for young people in terms of mobile training and support that will facilitate their access to the job market.
Debate around the film The silence of the lambs
Friday, the library of the National Book Directorate (DNL) screened the film by Jonathan Demme “The silence of the lambs” which tells the story of a psychopath who sows terror in the “Middle West”. The screening gave rise to a debate with the audience of young readers of the DNL.
